>>Reviews

You’re one of the best personalities in the business and one of the best interviewers in the world.

Richard Carlson
Best-selling Author of the
Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff books:

You are very good at what you do! Thank you for a wonderful interview and all you do.

Bill Maher,
Author and TV Personality:

Diana Page Jordan is pure high energy and an amazing force of nature.  Being interviewed by her is like a double-shot of espresso.  Not only does she jazz you up, she forces you to think.

Tess Gerritsen,
Best-selling Author of medical thrillers:

Diana Page Jordan’s voice is familiar to people across the United States who listen to Between the Lines, her nationally syndicated conversations with authors. We in Oregon also see her on AM Northwest, catch her morning news show on KLTH-FM, and read her book reviews in publications as varied as The Costco Connection, the Portland Tribune, and Portland Living Magazine.

It’s a special pleasure to hear her speak about her work, as she did this year for Oregon Press Women (OPW), a statewide organization of professional communicators. She presented a fascinating overview of how she contacts (or is contacted by) prominent authors and then interviews them for broadcast.  Through numerous anecdotes and recorded examples, she illuminated the process of drawing people out and helping them reveal the personality whose work has come to the public in printed form. Her stories were by turn moving and amusing. The men and women who heard her speak were fascinated and impressed at this look behind the scenes. She answered as many questions as she could during the allotted time.

I would recommend Diana Page Jordan as an accomplished and enjoyable speaker.  We hope to have another session with her in the near future.

Glennis McNeal
2004 – 2005 President
Oregon Press Women

At a recent conference for women in journalism, I had the opportunity to listen to a presentation by Diana Page Jordan. Previously, I’d never heard her on radio, television or anywhere else for that matter, probably because my own job keeps me busy and focused enough I feel as if I’m in a cave all the time.

But I’m writing this to say how impressed I was with the delivery, style, content and presentation of her speech. She did a sensational job — well prepared, hip, entertaining and informative. It was extremely well received by her audience. After hearing it I wanted more—which is probably the greatest thing you can say about someone’s presentation.

She is obviously a very bright and attractive woman. Talent doesn’t necessarily follow those admirable qualifications, though. But in this case, I believe it to be true and would recommend that anyone looking for a speaker on a wide variety of topics would be well served to bring in Ms. Jordan. And if so, I would hope they’d let me know about it— because I would enjoy another chance to benefit from her knowledge.

Comments Following Diana Page Jordan's
Speeches and Seminars

Sheri Fitts, Portland Female Executives: We got RAVING reviews about your presentation; everyone loved it.

Richard Perry, Author of The Good Home Cookbook, also President and Publisher of Collectors Press  :Diana Jordan rocks!  She knew how to tap into the heart of my topic and help me convey it with authenticity.  I highly recommend her.

Brenda Smith, Author and Professor, Portland State, Marketing for Writers: Diana Jordan has interviewed many well-known authors and celebrities over the years.  Her speech to my class was not only engaging; it was very informative. My grad students could not get enough. Their questions went on and on. In fact they went on so long I had to put a stop to them.  Diana was entertaining, yet sincere, and very professional. Diana’s stories and experiences are inspiring and affirming.

Susan Fletcher, author of Alphabet of Dreams: I am writing to tell you how much I enjoyed the seminar and how valuable it was.  I love your approach, Diana.  It's warm and honest and not at all hypey.  You manage to bring substance and a sense of the genuine to the short media interview--a setting that's important for authors but too often comes off shallow and false.  Now I have so much more confidence about this.  Thank you for your generosity, for your vulnerability.

A subsequent comment from Susan Fletcher: I was giving a workshop…(and a reporter) interviewed all of the presenters, individually…I really enjoyed the experience.  But then she asked that last question:  Is there anything else you'd like to tell me?  Honestly, before I took your class I'm sure I would have said something like, "Uh, no, I can't think of anything else, thanks."  But I was ready.  I said the thing we worked on in class, and she said, "Wow."

Julie Fast, Take Charge of BiPolar Disorder: Thank you for your informative, fun and very timely class. I learned a lot and feel I am much more prepared for my publicity.

Glennis McNeal, President, Oregon Press Women: It’s a special pleasure to hear her speak about her work, as she did this year for Oregon Press Women (OPW), a statewide organization of professional communicators. I would recommend Diana Jordan as an accomplished and enjoyable speaker.

Anne Koppel Conway, Oregon Press Women: Diana Jordan's talk at the Oregon Press Women's 2005 Spring Conference was fast paced, filled with humor, insightful and at times riveting.  Definitely well received.  She would be a welcome addition to any speaker slate.

Steve Jones, author: I really enjoyed Diana’s workshop and found it helpful.  It forced me to confront my work in a way I hadn’t previously.  While I knew in my gut what my novel was about, I didn’t know how to talk about it.  The prospect of succinctly summarizing, in the interview setting with Diana, transformed my thinking about my book and how to describe it.  She’s well grounded in the science and art of the interview, as evidenced by her body of work and how she summarizes media prep for the novice.  Not only does she know what she’s doing, she knows how to describe in it a way that draws you in.

Robin Duke, Life Coach: Diana has a wonderful way of interviewing people; she connects on a deeper level and helps the listener to hear and see a different perspective of the interview. It has inspired me to dig deeper and work harder to bring to light the very important message I have to share and to give a perspective that comes from my heart.

Property Manager Heidi Knapp, Portland Equity Office: Our Women in Management Network group reaped many benefits from Diana’s presentation.  I've had some great feedback from my co-workers; we also had a great time and learned interesting techniques and strategies at the same time.

Members of The Link for Women who answered an on-line survey: Diana Jordan's interviewing skill tips were well presented and her personal energy was exceptional.

I was impressed with Diana, her background and the high-profile people that she interviewed.  I most like the story about one of my favorite on-air personalities, Tim Russert.  Anyone that can bring Russert to tears is my hero. Overall, her points about listening and letting the interview emerge were very good points for business.  I really enjoyed this event.

I thought Diana did a great job. I enjoyed her fresh approach and she was very authentic and inspiring.

Regina Perata, Specializing in Top-Performing Individuals & Teams: It was such a treat to hear you speak last night.  I learned a great deal, from your personal story to your teachings.
