Convinced that “The good stuff’s in the middle!” Dr. Patt Schwab works with people who are . . . in the middle—of organizations, of life, or of change.
More specifically, she works with midlevel managers and informal leadership staff who want to improve their skills at managing others, managing change, and managing to have more fun. She reminds them of the value of the work they do, and shares fun, easy to remember models to help them motivate staff, to become more creative at managing change, and to meet their personal and professional goals.
Dr. Patt Schwab combines years of hands-on management, teaching and training with over fifteen years of work as a full time professional speaker in Europe, Canada and the USA. Her programs are packed with humor, insight, and practical tips.
She encourages her audiences to use humor to rise above workplace challenges, insisting that the fresh perspective humor provides helps to reaffirm competence and to identify what really matters. She challenges attendees to use humor in their workplace to: Leave a Mark, Not a Stain!
Patt’s Ph.D. is in Management. Her doctoral thesis, on team building, was titled: "People Support What They Help Create." That theme runs through presentations on managing organizational and individual change, coping with stress and using humor as a management tool. Patt also holds the highest earned designation awarded by the National Speakers Association, the CSP, or Certified Speaking Professional.
Dr. Schwab has worked as a Student Affairs Administrator and Human Resource Manager at a variety of universities, including Penn State, the University of California and the University of Washington. She has supervised staffs from 1—150.
Patt is currently the president of FUNdamentally Speaking, an international speaking firm, dedicated to putting the “fun” before “da mental!” She has been featured in newspaper and magazine articles and has made television and radio guest appearances in the USA and Europe.
